The project intends to paint the entire accessible sidewalk of Rua Direita, from the street level of Porta de São João to Rua dos Caldeireiros.
The fresco is inspired by the colors of the place and its nature: the terracotta of the cliffs and tiles and the burning blue of the sea and the Algarve sky. The 5 chosen tones illustrate the contrasts of the Algarve while maintaining a certain simplicity and picturesque unity. The fresco patterns are inspired by archetypal forms of Portimão and its territory (see next page).
The work will be carried out by the artist and two assistants; Firstly, the team will draw the patterns with a brush on a square of chalk, and secondly, they will fill the shapes with polyurethane paint. That paint is specially designed to resist shock and external conditions, and therefore corresponds perfectly to providing Rua Direita with a quality and durable work.
